On Thursday July 24, 2008 members of the Amity Fire Company started their long journey down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to pick up the new Rescue 49. The members spent all Friday with Myrtle Beach Fire Department members going over the 2002 Pierce Dash Rescue Engine that is going to replace our current Rescue Truck, a 1997 International Central States rescue, with our members and then on Saturday they started their journey back to Amity Township with the New Rescue 49. The truck has to go through a complete makeover including a new paint job to match the rest of the fleet, as well as a couple other different things including tool mounting.
